Lorenzo Baraldi nasce a Parma il 30 ottobre 1940.
Studia nella sezione di Scenografia all'Istituto d'Arte Paolo Toschi di Parma e prosegue i suoi studi ai corsi di Scenografia dell'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera a Milano.
Nel 1972 firma il suo primo film in qualità di scenografo e art director.

Ha inoltre partecipato al Seminario "Scenografia Oggi", organizzato al Teatro Comunale di Firenze nel 1990, e presso l'Istituto d'Arte Paolo Toschi di Parma ha tenuto una serie di lezioni-stage su "Scenografia e Scenotecnica" nell'inverno del 1996, 1997, 2000.
Nel 1984 fonda insieme ad altri professionisti del cinema italiano l'A.S.C. Associazione Scenografi, Costumisti e Arredatori, il cui scopo è la trasmissione del sapere professionale di queste categorie al fine di garantire e difendere la qualità della professione, di così importante spessore nella storia dello spettacolo italiano, attraverso pubblicazioni (Quaderni di ricerca e Monografie), conferenze ed incontri con professionisti italiani e stranieri, eventi, mostre, seminari su alcuni temi specifici della Scenografia e del Costume dell'Associazione, i suoi membri ed i prossimi obiettivi.
Lorenzo Baraldi oltre ad essere uno dei membri fondatori, docente e organizzatore dei seminari, ricopre la carica di Vicepresidente dell'Associazione.

LORENZO
BARALDI was born Parma, Italy, on 30/10/1940.
He
studied in the Art Institute of Parma "Paolo Toschi" and then he moved
to Milan to attend the Brera Academy of Arts, where he studied Art Direction.
In
1966 he started his activity as a scene designer, art director assistant and
interior decorator, working in 20 films.

Next
year will be published "Dress a film", a book on the professions of
Art Director and Costume Designer written by Lorenzo Baraldi and Gianna Gissi.

has also participated in the Seminary "Art Direction Today" organized
by the Municipal Theatre of Florence in 1990, and he held a series of
stage-lectures about "Production Design and Stage Management" at the
Art Institute of Parma "Paolo Toschi" in the winter of 1996.
In
1984 he founded together with other colleagues of the italian cinema A.S.C, the
Italian Association of Production Designers, Costume Designers and Interior
Decorators, which has the scope of sharing and transmitting the professional
know-how of these categories in order to guarantee and defend the quality of the
profession, so important and prestigious in the history of the italian show
business, through publications (Research Papers and Monographies), meetings and
conferences with italian and foreign professionists, events, exhibitions,
seminars related to specific arguments about cinematographic and theatrical
Production Design and Costume Design. Recently a Web Site of A.S.C has been
created in which it's possible to serach for last activities, members list and
future objectives.
Lorenzo Baraldi is not only one of the founding members, a teacher and a seminars organizer, but also the Vice-President of the Association.
